All you need to know about the SASSE elections
As most students will be aware by now, we have just about entered the election season, at the end of which the SASSE board for next year will be chosen by us students. Here, we provide you with a summary of all the information you need to know about the elections.
SASSE 101: How To Launch A New Project
How does one start a new project? What are the steps, rules, procedures, customs, surrounding such a groundbreaking ordeal? After all, demand for new initiatives has invariably followed with the growing intellectual diversity found at SSE. The founders of DAS share their experiences, in order to serve as an example for aspiring SASSE-entrepreneurs. The three founders interviewed are Viktor Svensson (President), Erik Gunnarson (Vice President), and Alex Ekberg (Head of Newsletter).
Ambitious or Prideful?
You may have heard of them: through whispers in the hallway, or names mentioned offhand in the Atrium. The rumored “dual-degreers” — those studying 2 full-time bachelors programs simultaneously. Those who took one look at 30 ECTS and said “I want more.” To figure out what drives these people, I interviewed Viktor Lado Naess, a 2nd year BE student at SSE and a 1st year Computer Science student at KTH.
Looking Back Onto SNNC
After two consecutive years of postponement attributable to the beloved pandemic, the Students’ Nobel Nightcap, or SNNC, finally embellished Sveavägen 65 this past fall. Indeed, as the Nobel Night approached, it became difficult to not familiarize oneself with everything that goes into its creation.
Do you ever wish you had more hours in the day?
I think we’ve all, at some point, tried to do everything. Studies, work, SASSE-engagement, working out, hanging out with friends, the list never ends. Even though we only have 24 hours in a day, and no one has ever been able to achieve every single thing they wanted to, we still try.
Second-year Blues
Once, a great acquaintance of mine, who is some years older, told me about how second years at his university got special therapy sessions that address a so-called “sophomore slump” or “second-year syndrome.” At the time I thought it was some kind of hoax he was trying to prank me with, but it really does have some truth to it.
It’s okay to fail
One year ago I had my first accounting course, which made me question if maybe some superior power had it in for me. The first few lectures felt stupidly easy, this I think a lot of us have learnt the hard way is a serious red flag.

Surviving your exams
The first banquet took place, the parties stopped, the atrium and the hallways are a bit more quiet, we know what that signals: exams! The paradox of privilege
“We are attending a well-renowned institution providing us endless opportunities. This is a privilege, but one that can sometimes feel overwhelming.”
A walk in Kungsträdgården
The things we used to do together were replaced by Zoom calls. Soon enough, we adapted. However, I still dream of the old world, with parties, trips, and lectures in the Aula.
