"Art washes away from the soul the dust of everyday life."
SSE Art Initiative
Since 2013, the SSE Art Initiative has brought art to the heart of the Stockholm School of Economics, supporting its educational mission with a focus on being Fact-based, Reflective, Empathetic, and Entrepreneurial. Thanks to funding from The Hamrin Foundation, the initiative uses art to inspire, provoke, and enhance our critical thinking.
The initiative collaborates with top art institutions like Moderna Museet and Tensta Konsthall, and academic partners like the Royal Institute of Art and KTH. The initiative also works closely with the Center for Arts, Business, and Culture at SSE, as well as our student-run Art Division, to explore the role of art in our lives and education.

Three Wintry Film Recommendations
If Force Majeure and Inside Llewyn Davis (depending on who you ask, of course) are fairly well-known, this third recommendation belongs to the realm of arthouse cinema as much as anything.
Review: Killers of the Flower Moon
Killers of the Flower Moon is Martin Scorsese's latest epic, a historical crime drama set in 1920s Oklahoma. The movie depicts the boom of the Osage nation after the discovery of an oil reserve on their tribal land, and the series of suspicious deaths of Osage members that follow.
What to watch out for on TV - Doctor Who and Scott Pilgrim
BIG THINGS coming to TV this week!
Doctor Who on Disney Plus and Scott Pilgrim Takes Off on Netflix.
Thursday 23rd November is Doctor Who’s 60th anniversary!!! This is officially the longest-running science fiction show, and my absolute favourite thing in the world.
Murder Ballads by Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds
In the twilight of the Spooky Season, when the darkness of winter comes lurking, the crimson autumn leaves start to fall and the rain patters against the windows, what better album to fit the mood than this blood-drenched, devilishly entertaining collection of songs, all circulating around the same theme: murder.
An Open Letter On Art
I think art is brilliant; and because it’s brilliant, I think it’s a shame that the role and purpose of art within our school might be misjudged. No matter its form, we shouldn’t expect art to conform; no matter how much it might dare to challenge our sensitive and overly standardized norms.
Art is Meant to be Seen
Besides, I would be no better off arguing that money spent on such art would be better off spent in other ways, that is simply impossible to know. What I can say is that recycling already existing art is frankly banal. I give credit where credit is due: displaying the art for us is valiant, making SSE students more aware and in tune with the artistic, sure. But it is also the most lackluster way of going about it.
